Just spent two amazing days at Rupa Wasi. Excellent end to end service from arrival at the train's station to a late checkout after conquering Huaynapicchu. Stayed in room 5 which must have one of the most magnificent vista bedroom views of any hotel I've stayed. Rooms are rustic but comfortable. The service sets this place apart as great overall value and a truly welcoming and competent young staff. See my review for the adjoining Tree Top Restaurant...one of the best meals we've had in Peru! We pre arranged a 2 course meal when we booked our accommodation at Rupa Wasi Lodge. It is so impressive to see a young staff provide excellence in service together with high quality fusion food. Highly recommmend. –March, 2013
Rupa Wasi is not your typical US chain hotel; it was very unique which made it special. The rooms were a little small, but the balcony and view made up for it. Our room had a queen bed, but also had a twin bed at the end, which compensated for a little bit of the space, so technically they weren't small. The bed was REALLY comfortable (coming from US standards) and everything was clean. The water pressure in the shower was STRONG and the water was steaming hot (good thing for me!) and it was obviously adjustable! The service was great and the people at the desk very nice! Overall, I would give this a 4 star! It's not a large hotel with spa, pool and amenities, but everything was GREAT and the price was VERY reasonable! –February, 2013
Stayed here for three nights; two nights in a double suite with balcony and one night in the double with panoramic view. We were met at the train station and guided to the hotel... less than two minutes walk from the main square but feels far more remote. Excellent views of the town and, more importantly, the surrounding landscape. All of the staff (receptionist, restaurant and cleaners) were friendly and helpful 100% of the time. The rooms were spacious, clean, and modern with comfy beds and excellent bedding. The showers were slightly temperamental, but this is the same anywhere else in the town, and we found it easy to alter the taps. The restaurant was amazing; with wonderful food (breakfast was included within the rate and one of the best we´ve had during our year around the world). We were even allowed to stay in our room a little after check-out as it was not occupied, which saved us hours waiting around at the station for our afternoon train. One of the best stays of our trip... it made our Machu Picchu experience even more special than we had hoped, especially as I´d chosen this Wonder of the World to propose to my girlfriend. –February, 2013
