PACKING TIPS
- For the coastal cities such as Lima, Ica, and Nasca, it is recommendable to pack light breathable clothing. We suggest having amongst your things: active wear, sneakers, flip flops, a good hat, sunglasses, a bathing suit, and of course your camera! Remember that between the months of November and April, the Peruvian coast is very humid and with lower temperatures.
- For the mountain highlands, such as Cusco, Arequipa, Huaraz, and Puno, we recommend light breathable clothing for during the day, keeping in mind that the sun and radiation are very strong at high altitudes so coverage is important (think long sleeves, long pants, sunglasses, and a hat). For the evening and nighttime, bring a warm jacket or coat to bundle up. Between November and April, it’s a good idea to bring thermals and waterproof rain jackets as the possibility of rain is always present!
- For the jungle towns, such as Puerto Maldonado, Tambopata, Iquitos, Candamo, light covered clothing, a good hat, sunglasses and perhaps boots for the jungle walks. A good bug repellent is essential, as well as your camera.
